This past Saturday, an amazing husband, father, brother, son and friend passed away after a brave 4 year battle with pancreatic cancer – Doug Beaulieu – 1964-2012. We got to know Doug through my sister n’law Kathy as it’s her twin sister Kim’s husband – isn’t that a mouthful
. Over the years, we got to enjoy his humor and company at mutual events like my brother’s wedding in Las Vegas and at yearly Halloween parties. Even though I only got to spend a handful of times with Doug, I can tell you that he was one of the sweetest, funniest people you could ever meet that valued friends and family above all else. The world is a little less bright without his presence. Two years ago this month, we had the pleasure of documenting Kim and Doug’s wedding day in our hometown of Olympia. I’m so happy that Kim and Doug got to express their love and have a beautiful day surrounded by friends and family. I wanted to share some of the photos we took from that day again and some others from Doug’s life. Life goes by entirely too fast and sometimes we forget what is really important. I know Doug embraced life and wanted to be here every moment he could. So here are a few quotes that I love and feel embody the life that Doug lived. Doug even though you are not with us anymore, know that you are loved and missed by so many.
“Happiness is a choice—Choose Happy.”
“In the end, it’s not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away.”
Now get out there and embrace those you love and enjoy life—that’s what Doug would want us to do
.
